Konbanwa from sunny Japan! Getting on the site has been quite the journey, Japanese keyboards are different, obvs, and its taken me aaaaages to login, so fingers crossed the inspiration to write has not left me. BTW, forgive the omission of ellision, I have not worked out how to make an apostrophe on this keyboard yet! So, wow, I am finally here! This place is amazing and totally batshit! I love it! Having dreamt of this since I was just a bairn this is, quite literally, a dream come true! I arrived late yesterday morning in a bit of a haze…I had not slept properly the night I was in Amsterdam and the following night, on the plane, was just as restless.

It took me a couple of hours to get to my digs and, inevitably, my first intention was to headbutt a pillow. Comfy bed and a few hours nap nap later I was hyped to get out and explore! I am in a district of Tokyo called Ueno which is effectively a city in itself, so there is a lot to see and do. My first night was spent wandering about looking for somewhere cheap to eat and in this I was successful! With a belly full of curried chicken and veg, I continued my excursion. Strolling around, with bright neon lights and skyscrapers aplenty, I think I fell in love. The bonhomie I felt was incredible and I have a constant feeling like I wanna break into dance, like I could save the world by shaking my ass, just like Kevin Bacon. Such a sublime sensation, the constant rush of endorphins and dopamine was unreal! I am here! I am actually here! Even if I was forced to go home today for whatever reason, the very fact i have jumped up and down on Japanese soil is enough for me, the rest will just be a bonus!
